Beschreibung
For seventeen years, a devastating war has been raging—one that no one is meant to win.
The ambitious strategist Lycon is on the verge of revealing the true reason behind it.
Three powerful nations are vying for the precious mineral Syncanite: the source of crystal-powered devices and the key to unnaturally long life. In the seat of power in Rhiel, Lycon meets Kara, the ruler’s daughter—a celebrated duelist who prefers her relic weapon to the luxurious life of the court.
As the fragile Alliance of the South threatens to crumble, a delicate mission takes the two far beyond the borders of their homeland. But soon they find themselves entangled in a game where nothing is certain. What secrets will be revealed when it becomes clear that the threads of this power struggle run deeper than the war itself?
Über den Autor
Born on March 18, 1998, in Paderborn, Germany, Timon Lorenz Thöne began working on the FLUX trilogy at the age of twelve and completed the first version in 2015. A publishing agreement that was subsequently close to being finalized ultimately fell through when the small publishing house became insolvent. As a result, he immersed himself in the field of self-publishing and eventually decided to establish his own publishing company.
The then-existing Arkanite Productions GbR developed the project from a novel trilogy into an interactive, audiovisual augmented reality (AR) experience. In 2019, the project was awarded, among other distinctions, the Special Innovation Award of the Leipzig Book Fair. The team was also nominated as one of the German federal government’s “Cultural and Creative Pilots” and invited to participate in the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels’ Content SHIFT Accelerator. In 2022, Thöne was recognized there as one of the Top 10 entrepreneurs in the book industry for his consistent application of AR technology in books, including for the book *Understanding the Jewish World*, published by Marix Verlag as part of the “1,700 Years of Jewish Life in Germany” commemorative program.
The SYNCANITE GmbH was founded in 2023 and operates, among other activities, as a publisher of books and board games based on the FLUX trilogy. The company was established after Thöne was awarded second prize by the Entrepreneurship Institute of the International School of Management (ISM) for the corresponding business plan, which he developed as part of his B.A. in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance. From that point onward, the project, together with the resulting “AR for Books” service division, evolved into an independent company. In 2025, SYNCANITE GmbH achieved profitability with the Kickstarter launch of *SYNCANITE FOUNDATION*, a board game based on the book, and continued to grow thereafter.
In 2026, SYNCANITE GmbH is expanding into the fields of books, audiobooks, music, and film. This expansion was made possible by a second successful crowdfunding campaign. As a result, at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2026, after more than a decade of development, Thöne is publishing the special Book Fair edition of *FLUX – Zugzwang*, thereby laying the foundation for his company’s publishing business.
The first edition of the book is available to order through the VLB (Verzeichnis Lieferbarer Bücher).
